Creators, keeping their own record

Long before there was an archive, the people who built the objects kept galleries of them. Several are still up.

  • CypressBlade's CT Objects

    live, and maintained

    128 objects across seven years, 2000 to 2007, and twenty-one more built for Cybertown Revival in 2024 — listed year by year with the drop date, the features and the limit for each.

    HolodocDR's own Cybertown site. Its creators page is a member's list of the builders they admired — DawnsAngel, Gammonbrat, Juniper8, Lanneret, Osgan, Ski Bunny and Tatooman, Skippybrand, Zoozee — which is a kind of record no catalogue produces.

Where the material library came from

The Material Previewer ships 433 named materials. Recovering their source settled who made them, and turned up a whole set the Mall's copy never had.

  • VRML Materials, by David Roussel

    Thirteen sets of thirty-five VRML97 materials — Art Deco, Autumn, Glass, Metals, Neon, Rococo, Santa Fe, Sheen, Silky, Spring, Summer, Tropical, Winter — converted from SGI's Open Inventor material examples and published free around 1998. 420 of the previewer's 433 entries are these, channel for channel. Roussel published them as numbered definitions; the names are Breetos's.
