Object size and position

Size

  • The maximum size of an object is 10 x 10 x 10 meters.
  • The scale of the objects should be about 25% larger than real life to appear correctly inside of Cybertown.

Object position

  • The bottom of the object must be touching the floor at -1.75 on the Y axis. This includes objects that are designed to be on the ceiling or hung on walls.
  • Objects must be centered on the X axis. Center is 0.
  • Objects must not extend farther than +1 meter on the Z axis.

Texture

Texture

  • Objects can only have 1 texture file applied to it.
  • Texture files must be in the same directory as the source file. The reference should look like "filename.jpeg", not "/directory/directory/filename.jpeg".
  • Textures shall not be linked to an external source.
  • It is best to use a base-color of white for textured objects as the colors tend to bleed through the texture and cause it to not look correct. If you intentionally want the color to bleed through, please let the mall staff know when you upload the object.
  • Posters/art must be legibly signed by the creator.
  • AI created art is permitted so long as it contains no other copyright/trademarked content.

Animation

Animation

  • The light shall be off by default and use a touch sensor or proximity sensor to turn the light on and off.

Viewpoints

Viewpoints

  • Viewpoints may only be used when they are inherent to the object created. (Example: a rollercoaster ride, an airplane with controls, an interactive object.)
  • Viewpoints must automatically unbind from the user when the user steps away.
  • All viewpoints must be named.
  • More than one viewpoint may be used when required by the object's basic function.
  • Each viewpoint must have a unique name.

  • Objects shall not contain potentially offensive material.
  • Objects that depict or contain imagery of bodily harm are not allowed.
  • Weapons or bombs that show gore are not allowed.

  • A model's clothing must meet the minimum coverage required in Cybertown.

World Info

  • All objects must have world info.
  • World info must contain the name of the object, the creator, the price, the quantity, and the date it was uploaded.

The Mall website states the same requirement in more detail, and supplies a template.

City and Colony holds

  • City and Colony holds are available.
  • Cost: 10 CC per item.

  • Before upload, the correct Colony leadership must contact the Mall.
  • The message must identify who will create and upload the objects and the event they are for.

What happens after you upload

Checked objects

  • When an item is checked, its check date is added to it. For example, [0103] means it was checked on January 3.
  • The price is placed in the name, such as (100) for 100 CC.
  • When an object is rejected, a message is sent to your inbox with the reason.
  • Accepted objects are posted on the Mall message board.

Dropped objects

  • Dropped objects are listed on the information board with their location.
  • Objects are not dropped in clubs.
  • Normal drops are Tuesday at 9 AM and Friday at 5 PM, CTR time. Schedule changes are announced in advance.

Re-stocking

  • No more than 500 instances of one object can be re-stocked at one time.
  • More than 500 total can be re-stocked, but not in one operation.
  • You cannot sell more than the amount stated on the thumbnail or item name.

Reuploading

  • An unlimited object can return after it sells out and is removed.
  • A sold-out limited object remains limited and cannot return as a new unlimited supply.

Art redrops

  • One art item can be placed per drop.
  • This applies to first drops and redrops.
  • When several art items wait for restock, they return one at a time on normal drop days.
  • This rule does not limit non-art items.

Buying in the Mall

  1. First the object must be dropped and set. This happens after an accept list is posted and a Dropper MD has prepared the drop.
  2. Find the object by browsing the stores, or — if it was recently dropped — by looking on the information page to find which store it was dropped in.
  3. Check the stock to the right of the price in the purchasable objects tab, to the right of your chat window. If any are left and you have enough CCs, right-click the object's name and select "buy" or "properties".
  4. A new window states all the information about the object; scroll down and click "buy" to purchase it.

Buying happens inside Cybertown Revival.

My Uploads

My Uploads is reached from the sidebar inside Cybertown Revival.

  1. A button on the Mall sidebar labelled MY UPLOADS opens the creator page in a new window, showing your pending and approved objects.
  2. MY CATALOG returns you to that page and shows every object you have uploaded that has not been rejected — original name, price, quantity, limit, upload date, and how many sold.
  3. PENDING shows uploads waiting to be checked by Mall staff.
  4. STOCKED shows uploads currently placed in a store, which store, and how many have sold.
  5. RESTOCK shows objects not currently in the Mall that can be restocked — unlimited items, or limited items with unsold quantities. You can add up to 100 at a time if unlimited, or up to the limit if limited.

It is the creator's own responsibility to read the rules and guidelines before uploading items to the Mall. Nobody can claim complete ignorance of a rule stated in these guidelines.
